Blood suckers surface at Mogoditshane Senior

The two students were caught squeezing out  their own blood into containers before they drank it. Following the mind boggling scene, the school management took the two students to a local customary court where they were whipped.

Following the revelations Mogoditshane deputy Customary Court president Keabetswe Dihutso says they are forming committees that will be addressing students’ problems in all junior community schools whose students are admitted at Mogoditshane Senior Secondary School. He told The Monitor on Friday that they are worried by elements of Satanism that seem to be starting at Mogoditshane Senior School.

Dihutso said they heard the case recently, which forced them to convene a meeting with parents on how they can help.

“This incident has really shocked us as the leaders of Mogoditshane. The incident is the first of its kind to be reported in our Customary Court. Though we had given each student two strokes on the buttocks, we felt we should investigate the issue deeply,” he said.

Dihutso said each junior community school in Gabane, Kopong, Metsimotlhabe and Mmopane will have a committee to deal with any challenges or problems that the school is facing.

He said they will also advise students and involve them so that they can be open to them when they have a problem.

He further requested parents to talk to their children about any challenges they are facing or temptation they are going through.

“The other problem is that some parents seem not to be doing enough to guide their children because students normally change behaviour at senior school. We do not know whether is because of the new environment or not,” he said.

He said the other report that Mogoditshane School head cries about is that students had cut the school fence on the hostels’ side so that they  can escape at night.

Efforts by The Monitor to try to get comment from Mogoditshane Senior School Head  Motlhageng was not successful.
