Three contestants were nominated for the position, but David Mathe was disqualified because no club seconded his nomination. Only two members were retained from the previous committee.

They are vice president for administration Lere Basupang and vice secretary general Kemmonye Seletamotse who were unopposed. Andrew Dobolo was also unopposed for the position of public relations officer.

He replaced Jerry Ditlhong who did not seek re-election. Bontle Charles is the new treasurer. Christopher Ponatshego is the new vice president in charge of technical matters after ousting Mpho Bakwadi, while Phineas Motseolapile beat Ezekiel Seru to the position of secretary general.

The new president, Bathai of Karate Nomichi thanked the affiliates for entrusting him with the BOKA top post and promised that he will do his best. He hailed members of the outgoing executive committee and said they will learn from what they did.

He said he likes change and there should not surprises when he implements new things.

After his loss, Masumbika said the voters have spoken and he respects their decision. He said he is available whenever karate needs him.

Masumbika urged the general membership to work closely with the committee in order for BOKA to realise its dream. The new committee will be in office for two years.
