With the Francistown side in devastating form, it is doubtful that even a full strength Ladies Focus side may have made a difference.

Ladies Focus’ trusted striker, Katlhego Manake played her heart out in the game but her valiant efforts were not enough to stem the tied.

Francistown United humbled the celebrated side from the low-income location of Newstands through a hat-trick from the super-fit Kebalipile Jwankie. She struck once in the first half before finding two crucial goals in the second stanza to make nonsense of Ladies Focus’ solitary goal in the 40th minute.

The on fire Jwankie pounced in the 28th minute to make it 1-0, while Manake replied for Focus in the 40th minute of the match played at Phatsimo Primary School in Francistown.

The two sides started the second half cautiously and seemed content to try and score through counter-attacks but Francistown United stepped up the pace to grab a 3-1 win.

With her good off the ball movements, the tactful Jwankie was too tricky for Focus defenders, especially Kenna Lucas. For her second goal, the striker came face to face with the advancing Focus goalkeeper, Tshepo Motshosi whom she left sprawled on the ground as she rifled into the net.

After going 2-1 down, Focus tried through their talented defensive midfielder, Keamogetswe Kotompo to come to terms, but Francistown United defended well.

In a desperate move to find the equaliser for the second time, Ladies Focus pushed more players up and exposed their defence.

Francistown United took advantage on counter attack when Jwankie outpaced her marker to score after she received a pinpoint pass from the dreadlocked Bokani Babatshi.
