In the Woods: Black Forest's appeal was thrown out

Forest had approached the committee alleging that eventual champions, Letlapeng had used Nelson Sibanda in their match last September though he was not a registered player.

But on Monday, the committee chairperson, Tariq Babitseng told Mmegi Sport that Forest failed to prove their claim.

Forest had said Sibanda used Boitumelo Mbe’s registration book, but this was not proved. Babitseng said it was clear that Sibanda was properly registered and therefore permitted to play.

Forest chairperson, Mompati Ditiro said they are not happy with the outcome of the case, hence they will appeal to the Botswana Football Association (BFA) Disciplinary Committee. He said they want three points and two goals docked from Letlapeng for the violation of play rules.

Forest reported the matter in September. Babitseng said he was absent when the matter was raised and the then committee did not form a quorum.

He stated such matters always crop up in football as the season ends. He pointed out that they handled a similar case between Jwaneng Comets and Wonder Sporting last season. Otherwise, he hailed the clubs and administrators for a smooth season. He appreciated the job done by his committee in his absence.
