The striker pounced in the 25th minute after outpacing the TAFIC defence and repeated the feat in similar fashion in the 57th minute. TAFIC nearly pulled a goal back in the 32nd minute through Holiness Mlilo but goalkeeper Itumeleng Selapa averted the danger.  They threatened again at the start of second half with a good exchange between Oteng Mongala and Mlilo, but unfortunately the chance was wasted when the ball ran out. Selepa came to the rescue of Notwane again in the 82nd minute when TAFIC nearly reduced the deficit.

Notwane manager, Fabian Zulu told Monitor Sport after the clash that he was impressed with the performance of his charges. He explained that playing against a side that had nothing to lose was a challenge.  He stated that they came into the match knowing that TAFIC is a scoring side and they had to make sure that they contain them in the entire game.

“The win means a lot for us especially that we went through a bad spell this seasons. Players were exposed to some bad elements especially the Gift Mogapi saga. That period had an impact on the entire team, but we have managed to stay intact. We now have to move forward,” said Zulu.

TAFIC coach, Darlington Dodo said they wanted to win the match, but things did not go according to plan. He pointed out the two goals that they conceded were due to poor marking. Dodo said the entire season has been tough for his side, hence the relegation.
