The Monitor has established the identity of the victim as Kealeboga Danster of Tsabong, according to police sources.

Although details of what actually transpired at the De Beers CEO’s farm, leading to the death of the boy, are not clear, yesterday The Monitor established that the victim had not yet been buried.

Since the accident happened last week Tuesday, it has not been smooth sailing obtaining official information from the Police at Tsabong, Werda, or the divisional offices in Lobatse.

During the first attempt, Tsabong police referred The Monitor to Werda, who have not been easy to get for a comment as they continually say their station commander is out of the office. The officers would not even divulve the station commander’s mobile contacts.

However on Friday The Monitor was advised to contact the Lobatse offices as the case has been moved from Werda police to divisional headquarters.

Those efforts did not bear fruit either.  Yesterday The Monitor learnt that the case is actually in the hands of the CID, not the police, hence the inability by the police to freely comment on it.

According to earlier reports the De Beers CEO woke up in the middle of the night to shoot at a dog which was terrorising people in a tent, but the bullet somehow hit the boy.
