The event organisors, Norman Proctor promised revellers lots and lots of laughter, saying that as usual they will be dishing out amusing jokes.

“Having produced Heavyweights Comedy Jam Show featuring Deep Fried Man, Pelepele, Sifiso Nene and the All Star Comedy Jam featuring Thapelo ‘Tips’ Seemise alongside top local comic acts, it was only natural to show growth through taking the event around the country.  We will also introduce more talented local comics at these shows,” he said.

He added that the All Star Comedy Jam show is bringing non-stop laughter to Selebi Phikwe with the country’s funniest and acclaimed standup comedians while introducing upcoming ones.

The headliners for the show are Tsabong’s Brooks and local heavyweight Rib Cracker.

“Two-time President Day Competition winner, Brooks has been on the forefront of Botswana’s comedy scene. His unique sense of humour, quick wit and intelligent comedy has made him one of the country’s most popular comedians and ensured that audience is left in stitches wherever he goes,” he said. Another comedian who will be performing is Gabane’s Oefile ‘Mawee’ Mokgware who has made a mark in the comedy industry since his debut appearance at the then Café Khwest Sunday comedy shows.

This time around also making their comedy debut in Selebi Phikwe will be Desire Itani from Francistown and 2013 President’s Day Competition winner Kabo ‘Order’ Keitheng. Also on the roster is Phenyo ‘The Master’ who rocked the last All Star Comedy Jam.

“Phenyo brings clean, high energy, fun and clever comedy to the show.  He toured with some of the top comedians and has been featured on several Laff-A-Lot shows.  All these comedians who will be performing are versatile,” he said. He said that they are grateful for the tremendous support they have been getting from both the public and the media.

“We promise a rocking show with this production and we have an accessible venue to accommodate a lot of people and patrons must come in numbers to support us.  Our aim is to see standup comedy grow in Botswana,” he said.
