In a press statement issued this week, the bank said while 30 percent is below the marginal pass grade, in the context of Letswai Primary School it is a confidence boosting mark given the multiple challenges that the school faces because of its remoteness.

BBS built a fully equipped library worth over P1.2m for Letswai Primary School which was handed over to the Zutshwa community in 2013 by Vice President Dr Ponatshego Kedikilwe. BBS committed that it would maintain a keen interest in the school to help it improve its performance.

Commenting on the improved performance, BBS managing director Pius Molefe said that “this strengthens our resolve to continue our relationship with Letswai Primary School. I would like to express my appreciation to the School Head Phatsimo Keagile, her Staff, the Parents Teachers Association, pupils and the community of Zutshwa for their determination to succeed”.

Molefe also urged more companies to identify schools they can support so that Botswana’s public education system can be strengthened.
