The Tjotjobina jazzman got the lukewarm audience up on its feet after he put aside his instruments and belted familiar tunes from his 2004 debut solo album.

Those in attendance denied themselves the pleasure of basking in the melodies of his horn as Bhudaza and his band showed skill behind their equipment.  Only a few got on their feet and danced as he serenaded them with soothing tunes from his saxophones.

Things turned around when the Lesotho artist sang songs that include Khera, Tjotjobina, Bo-Mapefane and Glory Hallelujah from his still famous album Bo-Mapefane.  His act was well received all the way from Lesotho with love by his loyal Batswana fans.

Bhudaza’s band was joined onstage by two of Botswana’s acclaimed female saxophonist Akhutleleng Mogami and Tracy Bortsie who let their instruments do the introduction of what they are all about.

Prior to Bhudaza’s performance the ever glamorous and always hyper Shanti Lo warmed up the stage.

Other performances included Nono Siile who at some point in time flashed her behind and thighs to a surprised audience as well as Stream Jazz Band that laid the foundation for a solid first act.  The Friday event was organised by Barclays’ social club Barclays@play.
