Hollywood actor Rick Yune is in Botswana for about 14 days for friendship and tourism, courtesy of his long time friend Duma Boko. Brand Botswana can make Yune their friend too, and have him as the Botswana brand ambassador.

As a famous Hollywood actor, Rick Yune needs no introduction and his potential to share the official Brand Botswana story with the rest of his friends and colleagues in Hollywood better than Ja Rule, cannot be denied.

Now since Brand Botswana appears to have developed the keanness to not let any special moment such as this pass them by, like they claimed when they did business with Ja Rule, one can only logically hope that they will once again rise to the occasion and take advantage of the popularity of the man on the globe.

It seems Yune could even be a better invest- ment than Ja Rule, after all, the first word the man uttered when he touched down at the Sir Seretse Khama Airport, was his desire for a dish of ses- waa! Impressive.

It is then revealed that he actually lived in Bo- tswana for six months in 2008, with his friend, Boko. Surely Brand Botswana has a friend here who can articulate their brand, Botswana, well.

Should Esther Norris at Brand Botswana turn a blind eye to this huge opportunity, then we would be left wondering whether their publicised stance to up the ante in getting Botswana known interna- tionally was genuine, or just an excuse to support a concert.

We can also hope that Yune’s friendship with Boko would not be seen as hindrance to any Brand Botswana aspirations after all their friend- ship is not political.

Already Yune’s presence in Botswana has triggered media interest both here and afar, as inter- national media outlets also take interest in this developing celebrity news.

Of course it would also be ideal for Brand Botswana to work with a celebrity who is generally clean like Yune, that’s an added advantage.

We can only hope that going forward, with the hospitality he continues to receive in Botswana, even without endorsements, Yune will attract more of his friends to come and spend more than a week here like him.
