They will soon enroll in the national service propgram

Reached to elaborate on the issue, BDP executive secretary, Sechele Sechele referred Mmegi to the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture (MoYSC).

Sechele could not clarify the difference between the ongoing national service and his party’s proposed national internship programme for tertiary school graduates.

“I can’t explain to you the distinction,” Sechele said.

The BDP executive secretary could not explain why the public servants at the ministry should elucidate the BDP manifesto’s electoral aspirations. MoYSC spokesperson, Christian Mmusi, could not be reached for comment.

In August 2008, the Department of National Internship Programme (DNIP) was established to help unemployed Batswana gain necessary skills to become employable. Consequently, DNIP aims to facilitate skills development and transfer to young Batswana graduates, thereby providing a seamless integration of graduates into the economy.
