Ozzy told Showbiz that he knew he was destined to be an entertainer when he used to be responsible for organising school festivals. He mentioned that pleasing people has always been his forte.
“I love being the life of the party, being that person who has to make sure that people enjoy themselves. Bringing people together is what I most aim to do when I play at a party. I love creating a fun atmosphere and making people have a good time while creating memories. All this defines me as a DJ,” he said.
He added that being a DJ is a disciplined job that requires a lot of commitment patience and more than anything, dedication.
“These days there are a lot of DJs so one has to be strategic when he is in this business and stand out from the rest so as to attract more followers,” he said.
Ozzy mentioned that he uses his creativity and good looks to lure more people to his side.
“I am able to read any crowd be it mature or not, so I choose the songs I play for them wisely looking at their age. My ability to adapt my set to any situation also adds to some of my secrets. I can start a set, play a prime time set, or close a set and not repeat any song any DJ has played and still manage to rock the crowd,” he said.
Not only is DJ Ozzy famous locally but he also has performed in other African countries and managed to wow the crowd. He has been fortunate enough to play alongside some of the greatest DJs. He also shared the stage with some of the world’s top artists including the likes of US crooner Joe Thomas and hip hop artist Big Sean, DJs like Fresh, Euphonic, Kent, Milkshake, Dimples, Vigilante, Big Nuz, Oskido, Zinhle, Tira and Professor.
“My biggest highlight has so far been playing alongside American artists. To be chosen as one of the DJs showed that I was doing something right. Benchmarking against international standards has always been my number one goal and being told by my fans that I am the best always puts a smile on my face,” he said.
He said that not only does the future look promising, but he is also still going to surprise many with his skills and creativity.
“With this unbelievable polished God-given talent I have, my fans are going to be shocked with what I have in store for them. I am planning something, which will be revealed soon. I must say it is going to blow many away,” he said.
