The prosecution told Extension II magistrate, Joy Brown that the three accused people in the case have failed to assist the police to arrest the suspect. The accused, Karabo Joseph, Bakang Ramontshonyane and Ditiro Reboeleng appeared before Brown last Friday.

The court heard that a suspect known as Tichaona has proved elusive as police could not ascertain his surname from the three arrested men. It is alleged that the accused sold Motswaledi’s possessions to Tichaona. Joseph, Ramontshonyane and Reboeleng are accused of breaking into Motswaledi’s vehicle near Maruapula on February 14 and stealing various items, including a Dell 5520 laptop, Blackberry smartphone and an iPad 3. The prosecution has previously said that only the iPad was recovered.

The defendants will appear for mention again on May 5 when they will be told the date the prosecutor will be ready to serve them with submissions of evidence from witnesses.
