BAYGOC close to Btv, SuperSport deals

BAYGOC chief executive officer, Tuelo Serufho told Mmegi Sport that the broadcast rights owners, the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) has mandated them to engage Btv and Supersport.

He said that the negotiations with both stations are at an advanced stage and contracts are expected to be signed soon. The second African Youth Games will be held in Gaborone from May 22 to 31.

Representatives of Supersport were in Gaborone on Thursday for the last round of discussions before a deal is finalised to air the games. Serufho said parallel discussions are taking place with Btv.

“The principle is that the national broadcaster (BTV) will also partake in broadcasting the games,” Serufho explained.  There will be some events held simultaneously and the broadcasters will be forced to split coverage.
