Dada unleashing 57 vans for BDP campaigns

In a brief interview with The Monitor yesterday Dada, also the party treasurer, was cagey about the cost of the vans except to say they are pretty expensive.

The 57 vans were launched with pomp and ceremony at Notwane grounds on Sunday, where the party also launched its manifesto as jazz maestro Soca Moruakgomo, pop sensation Thabang, and Women of Jazz, Punah and Nono, performed to the BDP multitudes.

Dada however denied digging deep from his pockets to secure the vans for the broke BDP which has been struggling to up salaries of its employees for the last 10 years.

“It is not true I buy these vehicles, friends of the party, party members, contributors, they all come forward to help us raise the funds needed to acquire the vehicles,” Dada said.

The treasurer also told The Monitor that the vehicles will be dispersed to the various constituencies with effect from Sunday.

He stressed that they will be used by parliamentary candidates, but said even at the ratio of one van per constituency the resources are not enough.

The BDP, through Dada, has been the only party that has managed to get vans for all the constituencies every election year.
