After losing 1-0 to Extension Gunners a fortnight ago, Matebele were expected to come with all guns blazing against Miscellaneous, but it was not to be.

Played under a scorching sun, the game failed to live up to expectations with few goal-scoring opportunities created. Miscellaneous seemed to have done their assignment and frustrated BDF XI in the midfield with their danger men finding little spaces to maneuver.

Both Molatedi Mabina and Kabelo Seakanyeng were closely guarded on the wings and posed little threat. This enabled Miscellaneous central defence led by Ishmael Mosetlha to easily deal with captain, Mokgathi Mokgathi.

BDF XI defence also had little to do as Miscellaneous strikers committed errors up front. The first real chance of the match came in the 32nd minute but Mabina failed to give BDF XI the lead with only the goalkeeper to beat as he ballooned  over the bar.

With just a minute before the half time break, Miscellaneous committed a foul outside the box. Mooketsi stepped forward and curled the ball into the far corner, giving Miscellaneous goalkeeper, Ontiretse Gaothobogwe no chance. The goal separated the two side at half time.

Just before the start of the second half, Miscellaneous made a double substitution, introducing Molemisi Gaothobogwe and Simbarashe Gorogodyo for Keaotshepha Omphile and Mopati Moswela.

The substitutions nearly paid dividends as Miscelaneous  were now threatening more on the left wing where Gaothobogwe was influential. The stocky winger  pressed BDF XI’s right back for most of the second half  but was given little support by his team mates.

Both Miscellaneous goalkeeper and BDF XI goalkeeper, Takudzwa Ndoro had little to do in the second half. The victory sent BDF XI back into second spot on the log. They had lost the position to Mochudi Centre Chiefs last week following the loss to Gunners.

Miscellaneous on the other hand now find themselves dropping to position 14 on the log with just three matches left. It was their second successive loss.
