In the first half, Tafic had done well to keep GU at bay in a beMOBILE Premier League clash played at the Francistown the stadium on Saturday.

Mid-way through the first half  GU Left back Edwin Olerile hit the bar with a long-range shot. Olerile again had his shot saved by Tafic goal minder Edwin Morapedi towards the end of the first half. Olerile was also lively  as he delivered a few telling crosses into the goal area, but he was let down by his strikers.

After the break the two sides continued to enjoy an equal chunk of possession though this time around it was Tafic who created a sizeable number of notable goal scoring chances.

Tafic could have found the lead in the 50th minute through striker Mathew Nyamadzawo. The tall striker sent his header agonizingly wide with the GU goalie Noah Maposa well beaten.

Three minutes later ‘Machimenyenga boys’ as TAFIC are lovingly known had their penalty appeals turned down after midfielder Kabo Ogolotse appeared to have been fouled inside the area.

Chikomo punished the host for their wastefulness in the 65th minute when he calmly converted with a close low drive  after receiving a pass down right.

Again Nyamadzawo failed to direct his header towards goal  73 minutes into play. This was after he connected with a neat cross delivered by defender Otsile Batang from left.

Tafic continued their miserable day upfront when right back Kealeboga Molebatsi sent his close range shot wide. Four minutes from time an equaliser proved elusive when Nyamadzawo shot straight at Maposa after receiving a neat pass in the box.  GU also had few notable opportunities in the second half, but the most outstanding chance was from foward Kgololo Kgogobi whose shot from range went agonizingly wide.

Tafic remain rooted at the bottom of the 16 team log table with 21 points. Three games are left to complete the season. The club is almost destined for the first division but remains with a mathematical chance of surviving provided fellow relegation candidates extensively flatter in coming games.
