Under-20 coach, Innocent Morapedi left with a strong squad yesterday for the duel where the Young Zebras need a good result to make the second leg at the Molepolole Sports Complex an easier affair in two weeks time.

Morapedi, assisted by Nelson Olebile has called on two BMC players, Unobatsha Mbaiwa and Keorapetse Seloiso who are in the senior squad.

The two players have not been regulars at their club, but have played a pivotal role for the national Under-20 team. Also called to the squad are Allen Ndodole, Thatayaone Ramatlapeng and Karabo Phiri. Ndodole is well known for his exploits at the national Under-17 team, which was led by Kaizer Kobedi.

Both Phiri and Ramatlapeng have been getting game time at Uniao Flamengo Santos and Gaborone United (GU). The Botswana Under-20 team started preparing for the Malawi tie two weeks ago. The Malawians began preparations last week when they named a squad of 39 players. The team was cut to 25 this week and consists of only players from the regions.

None of the Malawi players are in the Super League unlike the current Young Zebras team, which has about five Premier League players. Malawi is Under-20 team is coached by former international, Ernest Mtawali.

The winner between Botswana and Malawi will take on Democratic Republic of Congo who are already in the second round.
