He describes that unforgettable moment saying, “It is like having Beyoncé backing you”. DT rocked the Cape Town international festival alongside some of the continent’s giant acts like The Soil and Tasha’s World herself.

“She is the trending award asset right now in Holland.  Sharing the stage with her was big for me.  She also came on stage to back me. She is so humble,” said an elated DT.

DT, who did a medley of his tracks, said Tasha was very much dazed by his energy levels and artistry.

In addition to his tracks’ medley, DT took time to celebrate South Africa’s departed struggle heroes Steve Biko and Nelson Mandela through Beenie Man’s 1997 song Steve Biko pulled off the album, Many Moods Of Moses.

“She was fascinated by my Setswana name and kept asking me to say it over and over,” he said. The Cape Town jazz fest is an annual weeklong event.  It is hosted in various big stages around the Mother City.

Performing artists attended workshops during the just-ended edition before a huge free show in the Green Market Square in the city centre followed by another one in Gugulethu Township.

The last big ones were held from Friday right through to Sunday.

The performances will be aired on different South African television channels including Channel O.

DT is benefiting from his association with digital distribution label, Content Connect Africa, who are responsible for selling his music world wide digitally. His music is available on iTunes, MTN and Vodacom.

The company’s marketing manager Munya Chanetsa tipped him about the jazz festival and facilitated communication with the organisers.

“I am grateful to Munya for everything they are doing for DT Music,” he said.
