Gaborone One wallop Lobatse-Kanye

Lobatse-Kanye skipper, Abdul Rauf Shaikh, won the toss and elected to field first with Arief Malik bowling the first over. Gaborone One opening batsmen, Rashaad Mosweu and Inzimam Master started off with confidence and took advantage of every ball. Master struck a number of boundaries and by the fourth over, Gaborone One was on 42 runs for no wickets.

In the fifth over, Lobatse-Kanye strengthened their fielding but the first wicket fell in the 10th over and 87 runs when Abdul Malik bowled out Mosweu. Wassem Tajby came in but did not last long and he was run out by Arif Malik after two runs. 

Hard-hitting batsman, Karabo Motlhanka came in and stepped up the tempo until he was caught out in the 17th by Deepak Madangarli, who went on to claim the scalp of his replacement, Nabil Master after one run from four balls. Arif Malik made short work of Thatayaone Tshose who came in for Master and was out after four runs. Inzimam Master’s reign came to an end at the end of the 19th over with Madangarli bowling him out as his team closed on 169 runs for six in 20 overs.

Lobatse-Kanye opening batsman, Azhar Sohail and Deepak Kallazhy started on a very slow pace as Gaborone One fast bowler Nabil Master went on the attack.

Kallazhy was bowled out by Tshose in the second over from a delivery which hit the stumps. Abdullah Malik came in as Gaborone One displayed some tight fielding which only permitted the batsman to get single runs. In the fourth over, Tshose bowled out Malik who had 14 runs from 11 balls. Arif Malik came in and experienced some dot balls from Tshose’s tight bowling.

Both Malek and Sohail had a tough time as they found it difficult to score runs.

In the ninth over Gaborone One introduced spinner Mmoloki Mooketsi, who made things worse for the batting team. Mmoloki bowled out Arif Malek in the 11th over  Rauf Shaikh came in as Gaborone One introduced another spinner, Dhruv Maisuria who quickly bowled out Sohail. His replacement Javid Malik did not last and went out without a run. After 13 overs Lobatse-Kanye had 73 runs.

Veenu Gopal came in and tried to maintain a partnership with Shaikh that was eventually broken by Nabil Master. Gopal was bowled out by Master and Bilal Shaikh was brought in to partner Rauf Shaikh. Bilal was bowled out for a single run by Nabil Master.

His successor, Hozaifa Malik was dismissed in no time by Master. Lobatse-Kanye posetd 102 runs all out with Gaborone One winning by 67 runs.
