Mojanki was supposed to appear at the magistrates court on Friday on a charge of malicious damage to property. The state alleges that he partly burnt a Toyota Corolla belonging to Letsweletse Matome near or at Mmei Community Junior Secondary School on April 21, 2012. Goods worth more than P4,000 in the car were also destroyed by the fire.

Principal Magistrate Dumisani Basupi immediately issued a warrant of arrest after motivation from the prosecution.

Prosecutor Tawana Kapongo confirmed to The Monitor outside court that once Mojanki is arrested they will apply for the revocation of his bail.

The case will resume after Mojanki’s arrest.

In a separate matter, Mojanki is also charged with killing Sox, a former nurse at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital. His next court appearance on this charge is June 16 for mention.

Mojanki (33), a resident of Monarch is jointly charged with his fellow police officer girlfriend, Tshepho Queen Nlewa (42) for the murder of Sox (28) in January.

At his second appearance, the case was moved to Masunga apparently to avoid the hordes that had descended on the court to get a glimpse of “Two Metres”, as Mojanki is known on the streets of Francistown.

At the time, Senior Magistrate Thebeetsile Mulalu granted the duo bail after the defence convinced him to release the pair who are believed to be lovebirds.
