That trend ended  over the weekend when they finished second overall institution award and  third in the local university award.

The Botswana accountancy college (BAC) on the night was the best Local public institution over Gaborone Technical College (GTC) and Serowe College of Education (SCE) in 3rd and 2nd position, whilst the Botswana International University of Science Technology (BIUST) reigned supreme on the night with the best overall university of the day. Wearing their traditional colours of orange and white BIUST had strategically positioned their stall at the exhibition hall that quickly caught the eye. The competition, which proved to have been tougher this time around, saw BIUST scooping the best overall stall for the second year in a row.

Regional director Corporate, Industry and Media Rrelations’ officer Mercy Thebe remained optimistic that her school will continue to turn heads with their innovation and branding. She said that after the fair her focus will be on their graduation ceremony.

Sources close to monitor have revealed that LUCT is looking to open another campus by beginning of next semester in Francistown, but Thebe was quick to rubbish the allegations saying that the University is not looking to open another campus in Francistown.

Speaking at the official opening of the fair, the Assistant Minister at the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD), Patrick Masimolole said that the country is moving into an era which is demand driven than supply driven. She said that this then means that institution should be able to produce graduates that are industry ready.

This year the fair is under the theme “ career guidance a gateway to realising your potential and shaping your future.”
