Anti-doping officials attended the game and conducted random tests on selected players from the two teams after the match.  The captains of the teams could not attend a post match press conference that was arranged after the game because officials said they were monitoring the anti-doping exercise.   Botswana Premier League chief executive officer, Bennet Mamelodi said they are still waiting for the results.  He could not disclose the names and number of players who were tested for banned substances.  “We will release the results when they come.  Right now it is still premature,” Mamelodi said.

He stated that this was not the first time that the exercise was conducted on local soccer players.  David Makakaba of Mochudi Centre Chiefs and Gaborone United striker, Ronald Chikomo were subjected to the tests in 2012.

In the past, some local athletes tested positive for banned substances and appropriate sentences were imposed against them.
