Indaba Lodge enters the fray

Apart from being close to Fairgrounds, home to clusters of businesses, and within walking distance from Riverwalk mall, the lodge is also a few kilometres from Tlokweng border gate.

That alone gives the lodge added advantage and makes it easy for one to settle for the Lodge to avoid driving around town in search of accommodation.

Indaba indeed has quite an ambience giving the lodge an African look with wood dominating the decor.  Right at the entrance by the lobby lies the stairs, which go up to rooms.  The stair wall has interesting wood neatly arranged into an interesting work of art.

The lodge yet to be launched provides only standard accommodation, with an introductory price of P695.  Depending on an individual’s needs, the price might come across as reasonable to potential clients, especially looking at the facility, its level of hygiene, and general appearance.

The prices however, according to the General Manager Candice Selato, will most likely be reviewed.  The use of space in the rooms makes them look a lot bigger than they actually are.

Interestingly, the towels provided for lodgers to use, are creatively arranged into an elephant, and placed on the bed. All rooms however are non-smoking, meaning those who smoke will have to step outside to enjoy their tobacco.

The lodge has a reasonably sized executive boardroom, which seats up to 16 people, a small gym which caters for residents only.  One of the important features that travellers look for in an accommodation facility is connectivity and the lodge offers free Wifi for residents.

Another important feature that potential lodgers might consider is the parking space.  The lodge has ample of it including secure underground parking.  Interestingly the lodge’s swimming pool is right by the dining area, visible to those enjoying their meals in the diner, something that might not necessarily be seen as user-friendly by those who want to have a swim.   The lodge as one would expect offers breakfast, which at the moment is also at an introductory price of P100.  Breakfast as one would expect is buffet-style, and the menu is not very different from most breakfast offered by the competition.

On the day Arts & Culture visited the 84-bedroom select service lodge, it had a variety of dishes on offer, which included ox-liver, eggs, with a choice of an omelette (prepared according to the client’s specification), sausages, and baked beans, just to mention a few.

The buffet also has a variety of cereals, fresh fruits, and plain yoghurt with flavours on the side, for the diner to choose what zest agrees with.

Selato explained that they however, alternate food items on buffet, adding that they also spice up their menu with differing styles of preparing them.
