Sepako dominates UB swimming competition

In the 50m category, he was trailed home by forth year students, Amos Motseothata and Solomon Basele. Sepako beat Victor Mabe who came second followed by Solomon Mpusetsang in the breaststroke. Sepako proved his mettle by winning the front crawl after beating Emmanuel Masokwane and Kesaobaka Moesi.

Despite Sepako’s dominance, fourth year students did not disappoint as they walked away with wins in most categories for both men and women.

One of them, Leatla Setlhabi won the women 50m backstroke followed by Kelebileone Gaotlhobogwe and Bonolo Molatlhegi. Keleabetswe Mosielele finished second position in the women 50m breaststroke behind Cate Carrigan. First year student, Boipelo Seleka was third. Molatlhegi won women’s front crawl division, Lerato Moleta came second. The swimmers competed in adapted swimming with their legs tied. In the category, Molatlhegi came first followed by Gaotlhobogwe and Chaitjwa Shandukani. The male competition was won by Mabe with Sydney Noko in the second position and Mothusi Kenneth coming third. The swimmers competed with one arm tied and Gaotlhobogwe reached the finishing line first followed by Shandukani in the women’s category. Mabe beat other men with Noko coming second.

Forth year women relay team of Keleabetswe Mosielele, Moleti Chilume, Setlhabi and Mosetsenagape Molatlhe won the breaststroke competition. Mabe, Masokwane, Kabo Chuma and Sepako won the men’s challenge. The team of Molatlhegi, Setlhabi, Kelebileone and Moeti Chilume won the women’s front crawl relay. The second position went to Corigan, Ontiretse Dikgole, Moleta and Olga Bosupeng. Mabe, Masokwane, Chuma and Sepako did well again when they scooped first position in front crawl.

Simon Tshwaane, Motseothata, Basele and Leroy Esternhuizen came second. There was also mixed front crawl relay challenge that was won by Shandukani, Moesi, Kagiso Nkone and Molatlhegi. Lucia Motswakhumo, Ester Ngombe, Masokwane and Mabe pushed hard to get second spot. The fourth year swimmers team was selected the best in the competition.
