LandBoard Official Stole My Plot Mochudi man Cries

Regionald Letamo has been working hard to raise funds to develop the residential plot he was allocated by the Kgatleng Landboard in 2010, but his neighbours at Makgophana ward, where his plot is located, told him about some new developments there.

He eventually found the owner of the structure through the contractor who was hired by the Kgatleng Landboard official to erect the building.

Letamo says the landboard official who is based in Artesia never disputed that he owns the structure but said he bought the plot from some people through a lease agreement. What Letamo finds strange though about the landboard official is that he does not seem to see this as an urgent matter that could even lead him to being jailed or losing his job.

His procrastinations have led Letamo to report the land board official for abuse of power at the Kgatleng Landboard.

Letamo showed The Monitor a copy of the letter from the Kgatleng Landboard which wrote to him acknowledging receipt of his report about Plot 267 in Makgophana ward.

While Letamo waits the outcome of his case, he tells The Monitor that he wonders what tricks the landboard official might have used to get the plot since he (Letamo) has the original and copies of the plot certificates.

“ He claims he has the lease, I’m wondering, is it possible to have the lease to my plot, without my involvement? I have been contemplating about acquiring a title deed for my plot and I was told it is a long process but this man seems to have hit it with the smoothest of simplicity”.

Letamo does not know how long he will have to wait for the outcome of his case so he can start erecting his own structure there.

His own investigations into the saga have also soured relations with neighbours as he went from one neighbour to another trying to piece together information.

Letamo says now some neighbours claim he is accusing them of colluding with the landboard official and are actually threatening to sue him for defamation.
