Ecco, Miscellaneous share spoils

Both teams started the game on a low note, though Miscellaneous enjoyed the bulk of possession in the first half as ECCO struggled to combine in the midfield.

Apart from a low drive from long range from striker Segolame Boy, which was parried away by ECCO goalkeeper, Chamonorwa Madamombe, early in the match, there were no fireworks in the first half. But both teams showed signs of improvement and created a few opportunities after the break.

Even the few supporters who turned up for the clash looked lively in the second half, perhaps as an appreciation of the improved display.

Miscellaneous grabbed the lead five minutes into the second half when Boy benefited from sloppy defending. ECCO failed to clear what appeared to be a harmless ball in the goal area, allowing an unmarked Boy to beat a hapless Madamombe with low drive from close range.

It did not take long for ECCO to pull level through talisman Tendai Nyumasi. The second half substitute scored what is a contender for goal of the season in the 56th minute. His long-range shot found the upper right corner, leaving the goalkeeper, Ontiretse Gaotlhobogwe, stranded.

After the goals, both teams created a number of opportunities but were let down by poor finishing. The draw leaves ECCO in ninth spot with 30 points while Miscellaneous drop from 12th to 13th with 27 points.
