ATI gives back to community

ATI will be donating food to the SOS Children’s Village based in Tlokweng as a way of appreciating his fans and making a difference in the children’s lives.

In an interview with Showbiz, ATI said that he has chosen to share his royalties awarded by Copyright Society of Botswana (COSBOTS) with the SOS children.

“I was awarded P11,000 from this money.  I have chosen to share it with these children as I feel sharing is giving.  I am a youth and I know children are the same people who buy and support my music so it is only right I use my royalties for a good cause,” he said.

ATI explained that choosing a charity organisation was easy, as he has always loved SOS children.  He said he admires the fact that some of them have no family yet they do not let that get in the way of achieving their dreams and growing into responsible adults. “I have heard stories that some of the best people we have are from this organisation.  They were raised here and I feel it is encouraging and inspiring that they rose from nothing to greater heights.  Their stories are touching, but the good thing is that they have a happy ending,” he said.

He added that not only would the children be treated to the food he will be donating to them; he has also decided to bring other celebrities along so that they spend the day with the children.

“There will be performances by me and other disc jockeys (DJs) including T-Izzy of Yarona fm who will be entertaining the children.  This will be the day that I am sure the children will not forget.  I have already started preparations for it because I want them to have the time of their lives,” he said.

He further mentioned that he is very passionate about giving back to the people. “This will be the first time I will be donating to charity and I am super excited about it.  I have already started composing a song for this event.  The single will be called In My Community.  All this is done because this issue is very sensitive to me,” he said.

ATI encouraged other artists to follow suite and donate to charity, as these are the people that make them what they are. “The world would be a better place if we all helped each other in improving lives,” he said.

The rapper recently released a single entitled O Tsididi that has been receiving a lot of airplay in local radio stations.

“I will be realising an album or mixtape before end of this year,” he said.
