Bolele appeal on tomorrow

In the Bulela Ditswe re-run two weeks ago, Joseph Molefhe garnered 2,049 to Bolele’s 1,554. The latter had won the first round, which was controversially nullified.

Bolele’s contention is that there were a lot of irregularities during the re-run. He had even contended the re-run saying he did not understand why it was ordered in the first place.

In the letter of appeal, Bolela said there were three contradicting letters from Tsholetsa House (BDP headquarters) regarding the matter. The first letter was calling for a re-run after elections committee reviewed appeals of two wards in Mahalapye West and endorsed the call for a re-run. The second letter withdrew contents of the first one. Then to Bolele’s shock, a third letter was issued a few days before the re-run, confirming the contents of the first one which called for another take of the primaries.

Bolele also alleged in the letter to the appeals committee that someone had tampered with the voters roll since it was different from the first one. Also before the appeals committee are complaints from the re-runs held on the same weekend in Gaborone Central, Mahalapye East, Lentsweletau/Mmopane and Gabane/Mmankgodi.
