Caregivers to benefit from new disabled law

He told New Xade residents recently that soon, government will table a bill in Parliament with intentions to bestow the benefits from the next financial year.

“The government will not only be committed to people with disabilities but even their caregivers,” Matlhabaphiri said.

He urged New Xade residents to register people with disabilities to enjoy the benefits from government.

He said that a bill will be tabled in Parliament to take care of the rights of people with disabilities. He told relatives of people with disabilities to register them at health facilities and not hide them. He said the government is assessing its poverty eradication projects to give priority to those that are lagging behind.

He warned that people involved in failed projects will have to explain what happened. He said since its inception, the poverty eradication exercise has assisted many people. He said that very soon, the poverty eradication programme will be taken to Xqabo.

A workshop will be held in Xqabo for all people living in Gantsi and surrounding areas. He said that officers have already been assigned to explain poverty eradication programmes. He stated that his ministry is working hand in hand with Gantsi District Council to assist those with backyard gardens with water. He said the construction of the New Xade road will commence soon.
