Car accident claims life on F/town-Maun road

Popularly known as DJ Small, because of his short stature, the 22-year-old from Semotswane, whose proper names Mmegi could not obtain at the time of writing, always entertained revellers at Savemor entertainment spot.

Gweta police, superintendent Nelson Museke confirmed the accident, which he said occurred along the A3 road, about 30 kilometres west of Gweta.

What puzzled the police however, was that  the vehicle - a Range Rover- in which the young man was travelling,  was alone on the road when the accident occurred.

Museke said that the incident occurred around 2pm when the Ranger Rover heading to Francistown from Maun overturned.

The police chief said they were still puzzled as to what could have caused the accident, but he added that ongoing investigations would reveal what actually happened.

He said that the deceased family has already been notified.

“Officers who were patrolling rushed to the scene and found an overturned white Range Rover car in the bush, a few metres away from the road.

“There was no one in the car as members of the public had already rushed the victims to Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital in Maun, “ he said.

He said that they were not yet sure about the number of occupants in the vehicle, although they were told by eye-witnesses that there were only two people - the deceased and the driver, who was hospitalised with serious injuries.

“We are yet to confirm from the driver what could have happened. We are still waiting for him to recover and tell us what happened”.
