Word reaching Showbiz has it that motswako artist Bakgatla and kwaito sensation T.H.A.B.O are currently in the studio working on their first joint album.  Already the two cannot wait to share the experience of producing an album together with their fans.

In an interview with Showbiz, Bakgatla said that they have been planning to do a joint album for a very long time.  It is only recently that they decided to make that a reality.

The Kgabo Mokgatla hitmaker said that after realising that he and T.H.A.B.O had a lot in common, they decided to showcase their denominator to the public.

“We are both talented individuals who are good at what we do. I will be bringing to the table my motswako expertise while T.H.A.B.O will be bringing his kwaito mastery.  Trust me when I say from that combination, people are going to be left speechless,” he said.

Bakgatla added that they have included a few other artists like Suffocate, Sickzteen Keys from the United Kingdom (UK), Zolaska, Chef Gustos and BK Proctor.

“We only wanted to work with the best as this is our first offering so we do not want to disappoint our fans nor want them to think that we made a wrong decision in collaborating,” he said.

Bakgatla said that they will be working with a producer from the UK so that they add an international flair to the album.

“We are not working on an ordinary album but one that will be remembered for years,” he said.

Bakgatla rose to fame in 2009 when he released his first single Head Up, which topped radio countdowns for weeks.  He later gave a smashing release in Kgabo Mokgatla in 2011.  He told Showbiz that the whole album was a dedication to his late father.

T.H.A.B.O on the other hand started off in a duo called T-Joint.  The pair gave hits like Tsanala, Diphatsa and Chencha Number back in the 1990s.  He went solo in 2003 and immediately found his feet in 2004 when he released his first album Son Of The Soil.  He dished out hits such as Ke Batla Biri and O Tla Mpakela.

T.H.A.B.O told Showbiz that he has always loved Bakgatla’s works and collaborating with him has proven to be the best decision he has made so far.

“People can look forward to a one of a kind album.  We are cooking up something very interesting and exciting.  The project will have tempo beats because we have discovered that dance music is taking over.  The album will have a lot of dance tunes,” he said.

T.H.A.B.O who is currently one of the biggest radio presenters revealed that he is enjoying his work, although he never knew that he would land on radio.

“I am loving every single minute of it. I learn new things everyday on radio,” he said.
