After hosting more than two successful events last year, the Stiletto sponsored-walk and Movember Week, the organiser of the event is hoping to attract an even larger crowd this time around.

Speaking to the organiser of the event, Joan Richardson, Showbiz learnt that they are planning a fun-day.

“People can come with their loved ones including children. This will be a day not to be missed as it will be filled with lots of activities that attendees will be able to do,” she said.

She added that the activities will include tug of war, zumba, capoeira, jumping castles, rugby, five-aside football games, races, fun rides, face painting, monkey nastixs, hula hoop race, around the hook, juggling, save race, egg race for the adults and other interesting games. She said that there would also be stalls that will be selling different things that might appease people.

She explained that the money made from the event would be used to care for underprivileged cancer patients.

“We will be taking all the money made to the Botswana Cancer Association.  We are aware that it is a non-governmental organisation that welcomes all the help it can get from the public so we want to offer a helping hand too.  We realise that cancer is a very serious condition that has the power to even kill someone if not treated well in advance,” she said.

The event is also done to raise awareness and sensitise the public on cancer.

“We want to reach as many people as possible because one way or another we are all affected.   Until we are all aware of the necessary procedures when dealing with people living with cancer then we are pretty sure that we might be able to handle this disease and possibly beat it,” she said.

The Women of Jazz, Nnunu, Kearoma and Punah will make an appearance at the event.  They will not be performing.

Disc Jockeys (DJ) who will be keeping attendees on their toes include Ricky Lamar Muskwe, Soul Medic Crew,

DJ Devin and DJ Kuchi while the masters of ceremony on the day will be T.H.A.B.O and Oratile Jazzelle Kebakile.

“We have tried by all means to include all sorts of entertainment so that people enjoy the day and not regret coming by.  The main idea is to have fun while we help other people,” she said.

To get in supporters of this initiative will part ways with P40 for adults and P20 for children.
