Goalkeeper, Mwampule Masule, Jerome Louis, Maano Ditshupo and Leutlwetse Tshireletso have been outstanding for Rollers and will compete with BDF XI’s trio of Otlantshekela Mooketsi, Kabelo Seakanyeng and Takudzwa Ndoro and players from other sides for the awards. Mooketsi, Sekanyeng and Louis are also in the running for the Mascom Top Eight Player of the Tournament Award.

Other players are Osego Gaotewe, Tebogo Sosome (both Gaborone United), Thabiso Khunwane (Mochudi Centre Chiefs), Nelson Moreetsi (Nico United), Rodney Buka (Orapa United), Segolame Boy (Miscellaneous), Patrick Kaunda (FC Satmos) and Mosha Gaolaolwe (BMC). The list will be trimmed to three at a later stage.

Meanwhile, Premier League sides, TAFIC and Uniao Flamengo Santos sank further into relegation zone following their losses over the weekend.

TAFIC are currently languishing at the bottom of the log with 18 points while Santos are just above them with 19 points.

Santos hosted Miscellaneous, who are also trying to dodge the dreaded axe on Saturday and lost 3-1 while TAFIC fell 2-0 to ECCO City Greens in a Francistown derby. The defeat left the relegation duo with a mountain to climb in the remaining seven matches. TAFIC have won only five matches this season, conceding 42 goals and scoring 17.  Santos have won six, drew one and lost 16 matches since the season began.

They have conceded the highest number of goals so far (44) and scored 24. This Saturday, Santos will be away to Nico United in Selebi-Phikwe in a must win match. TAFIC will be up against another relegation candidate, Orapa United in Francistown.

Both TAFIC and Santos are now hoping that other relegation candidates, Orapa United, Miscellaneous, Notwane, Extension Gunners and Miscellaneous falter, so that they can survive.

It was a positive weekend for Gunners, Miscellaneous and Orapa United who recorder important victories. Gunners beat FC Satmos 2-1, Orapa United thrashed Police XI 3-0 while Miscellaneous overcame Santos.  There was no movement as far as the positions on the league table is concerned but the three sides pulled away in terms of foints from other relegation candidates, Santos, TAFIC and Notwane.

Miscellaneous are still at position 11 with 26 points, the same as BMC who played to a 0-0 draw with BDF XI.

Gunners are 12th on goal difference as they tie on 25 points with Orapa United. This weekend, Miscellaneous take on FC Satmos at Itekeng Stadium, Gunners host ECCO in Lobatse while Orapa United are away to TAFIC.

Notwane’s woes continued when they lost 2-0 to Gaborone United (GU) last Saturday. They are now at position 14 with 22 points. They have another tricky encounter this weekend against leaders, Rollers, who thumped them 4-0 in the first round.

The abandoned match between Mochudi Centre Chiefs and Motlakase Power Dynamos is scheduled for March 19 at Selebi-Phikwe Stadium.  The match was cancelled because of waterlogged pitch following heavy rains in Palapye.
