Stock theft convict facing four rape charges

On 24th of the same month, the accused allegedly raped another woman.

The accused allegedly raped two more women at the same cattle post on August 26, 2012 and July 20, 2013. The accused has pleaded not guilty to the charges. While prosecutor Gaobone Othata said investigations into the matters are complete, he however asked that the case be postponed to following day as not all witnesses were in court.

“Due to the recent heavy rains, we have not managed to secure witnesses because the roads are impassable. The witnesses have been served to appear in court.  “We plead with the court to adjourn the case for tomorrow (Tuesday) when we will  avail witnesses in respect of two counts,” said Othata. Othata said the accused could not be bailed as he was currently serving a jail term for stock theft. Senior Magistrate Thebeetsile Mulalu, agreed with prosecution and adjourned the case for today.
