He recently released a song that has received a lot of appreciation from both local and international house lovers.

The track, a house tune, is called Khoisan.  He explained that it is particularly inspired by a dance that originates from the western part of the country.   The San in Kalahari perform the dance.  He mentioned that the song is quite popular and that it is used to celebrate the San culture there.

“This dance is usually performed when there are celebrations like weddings or other festivals.  The dance tells a story on its own and from it people can pick up a lot of things about the people including their way of life and their survival skills and techniques,” he said.

Sebopeng added that ever since being a house DJ, he always knew that he would venture into the music industry.  He said that after studying sound engineering at university, he learnt all the know-how’s of making a killer tune.

'I had to come in strong as an artist so that people recognise my presence as an artist not only as a DJ.

Also this was in order for the masses to know that I am good at making music.  I decided to start off by giving them a massive jam that not only will be celebrated locally but will also be appreciated in other parts of the world,' he said.

He explained that the song is very catchy and has a way of grabbing one’s attention upon hearing it.

“It is sung in our official language, Setswana and I feel this is what fascinates other house lovers from different countries.  The fact that I sang about one of the cultures here is just cherry on the top,” he said.

Sebopeng further added that the track gained popularity because of its dance vibe.  'I am very fortunate enough to be a house DJ as I used my experiences with what people like in parties to make the song. I tried by all means to be unique so that it sounds different and not something that people are used to,' he said.

He added that featuring Rose Motshidiemang as his vocalist for the song was a strategic move as the woman has a voice of an angel.

He said those that have had the chance to listen to the song would realise that Motshidiemang is a natural when it comes to singing.

The song currently tops radio charts on all the local stations.  He then shared with Showbiz that he has been getting positive feedback from people and all this has motivated him to speed up the making of his first album.

“I am currently working on my first house album, which people ought to look out for as it will be an album like no other. I am good with trying new things and experimenting and that is exactly what I am doing with the album. Soon people will hail me as a house guru,” he said.

As a way of promoting the single, Sebopeng has been busy touring the country and performing at gigs.

'I have been to Maun and Francistown and on March 28 I will be in Mahalapye,' he said.
