Batswana rant on social media about power outages

 

Commenting on The Monitor question on the paper’s Facebook page, Cassie Tshenyego said she was supposed to fax important documents on Friday but failed, describing the situation as dire especially on Friday.

Business man Eco Ntseane who runs a butchery in Gabane, where his meat got rotten, vowed to file a lawsuit against the Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) to claim for damages.

Chikondie Kamphulusa was disappointed that he lost his meat in the fridge, plus he has been inconvenienced by darkeness.

Elsewhere on social media Solly Reikeletseng, also businessman and the chairperson of the Botswana National sports Council(BNSC), expressed himself;

“Imagine a young and promising entrepreneur from the village who has won a tender to supply products which need manufacturing and power goes in the manner in which it is doing. That entrepreneur will lose all that he ever dreamt of and the next thing negativity will be cast upon him for failing to deliver and people will say “di business tsa Batswana are mediocre” This is really unfair. Someone must do something with this power crises. Just thinking aloud. A lot is at stake”.

Another frustrated Facebooker, Oesi Thothe, posted:

I will not complain about the lack of power in my house and country anymore.

I will however remain uncomfortable with it. Thus I choose to NOT accept it as normal...

While Limkwokwing regional director of Communications, Mercy Rebaone Thebe posted: I thought this electricity issue was a joke.
