Bright faces several charges at GU and his exit, according to club sources, is imminent. A day before appearing before the GU grilling committee for the second time on Wednesday, Bright was seen at Airport Junction Mall with top Gunners’ officials. GU told the coach he will know his fate on Monday.

Reliable sources said Gunners are willing to engage Bright until the end of the season.

“It is pretty obvious GU will fire him and he knows they already have another coach (Rahman Gumbo). We are already talking to him and it appears he could be the man to take over until the end of the season. Thereafter, a review will be done to map the way forward,” a reliable source said.

In the interim, Gunners have elevated former Zebras’ goalkeeper, Thabo Motang, to lead the club until a substantive coach is hired to replace Mike Sithole who resigned last week to rejoin national champions, Mochudi Centre Chiefs. Gunners chairman, Kitso Dlamini, confirmed they were looking to replace Sithole before the end of the season. However, he could not confirm nor deny interest in Bright, saying he was still an employee of GU. “Obviously, we are looking to appoint a new coach before the end of the season. As for Bright, he is still in GU’s books and we cannot talk to him for now,” he said.  Meanwhile, GU secretary general, Herbert Letsebe has insisted that it is not true that the club has hired Zimbabwean coach, Gumbo. He said they are still dealing with the Bright issue and they are not ready to hire another coach.
