Derby fever as ECCO-TAFIC go head-to-head

History and statistics do not matter in the battle for supremacy. TAFIC are at the bottom of the log with 18 points and will be under immense pressure to win. A positive result will possibly see them move to 15th spot if Uniao Flamengo Santos lose against Miscellaneous. TAFIC has experienced a turbulent season with on and off the field troubles.

Atshele Molapi’s ECCO are seventh with 26 points. On current statistics, ECCO start as favourites as they eye a top eight finish.

‘Mamoja diskie’ has had a fairly good season although they have not come near the high performances of the past.

They will want maximum points as they are fully aware that BMC and Miscellaneous are breathing down heavily on their necks with 25 and 26 points respectively.

TAFIC coach, Darlington Dodo promised good football on Sunday, noting that it is such games that usually win teams the hearts of their supporters.

“We intend to give supporters value for their money. It is a pity the rain disturbed our planning.

This is a very crucial game for us and I believe we want to win it more than ECCO as we try to survive relegation,” said Dodo. He said a win over ECCO will boost his players’ confidence and instill a sense of belief. He said they need to improve their strike-force to deliver the goals.
