Kgotla e, ke yame- Kgosi tells Minister

In his rage, the deputy chief complained that he was not informed about the meeting although he was the one supposed to authorize Kgotla meetings, 'Kgotla e ke yame,' he fumed. Sekai argued that government officials, including ministers should ask for permission from him, prior to conducting Kgotla meetings in Mochudi.

Sekai arrived at the main Kgotla while the meeting was on and was given a seat among the top table. During question and answer session, Sekai lambasted the ruling Botswana Democratic Party, saying the country is in chaos because of the party.

Sekai also complained to the minister that government has refused to renew his contract. He said that Masimolole is older than him looking at his physical appearance but still in office. Masimolole addressed him as Kgosi and this infuriated Sekai.

“Ebile o itse gore ke Kgosi, goromente a ganne go nkokeletsa konteraka gore ke bereke mme wena o santse o bereka. Ga ke go lebile o motona mo nna,” he said.

The Member of Parliament for Kgatleng West Gilbert Mangole also attended the meeting.

Earlier on, the minister held a close door meeting with Dikgosana who informed him that he should expect the unexpected from their boss who was not in the Kgotla at the time. Further, Dikgosana are reported to have openly informed the minister to feel free and ignore Sekai.

Meanwhile, Sekai urged Bakgatla to go and register for elections. However, the controversial Sekai said that he didn’t mean that they should go and vote the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP). “Ka re le tsamaye le ye go ikwadisa mme ga ke re le tlhophe Domkrag,” (Go and register but I am not saying you should go and vote Domkrag), he said amidst laughter.
