Keitseopes life as living testimony

“I used to drink, party a lot and have lots of girlfriends.  This happened at a time when I was studying for my Bachelor of Sciences at the University of Botswana.

I was a wild child who spent most of his time being a nuance as opposed to studying,” he said.

He mentioned that it was after he got a ‘fail and discontinue’ at varsity that he realised that his bad ways will not get him anywhere.  Rather his wayward way of life would have continued to bring him disappointment.

“I came to Gaborone as a brilliant student who passed his Form five with flying colours, but then I changed from good to bad.

After I failed, it clicked in my mind that all this was happening because I forgot all about God,” he said.

He said he then went back to his old ways of praising and worshiping Him.

He added that after failing he went to Prisons to look for work as a prison warder where he was told that he was overqualified for the job.

“I then decided to go back to school but could not secure sponsorship.  Amazingly I finally got the money and I went back to school.  I am now a qualified Mathematics teacher.  All the challenges I have been through were God’s way of getting me back on track,” he said.

The gospel singer released his first album in 2010 where he showered God with praises.  Although the album titled Matto Sounds Of Worship did not do well.  He said he expected its dismal performance as he thought it was not ‘perfectly’ done.

“After releasing it, I thought I could have done some things better.   This somehow made me lose hope in promoting it,” he said.

Last year Keitseope released a second offering and said it is doing extremely well.  The album, which is entitled Jesu O Lokile has 12 tracks and it is said to have so far sold more than 2,000 copies.

Showbiz had the pleasure of seeing Keitseope on stage performing hit tracks Ingwe Mabalabala and O Lokile at the Moabi Trust Fund launch.  As he performed hearts were touched and people were impressed.

“In this album I am trying to preach the goodness of the Lord that there is no situation or problem He cannot solve.  Most of the songs in the album tell a story of how the Lord can touch one’s life just like He touched mine,” he said.

Keitseope said that people should repent and start living for God as the end is near.

“The Lord said He will come when we least expect it so it is wise for people to start preparing for salvation now,” he said.
