DJ Fresh Delivers Vol. 7

The night’s cream of the crop included Dramaboi, Team Distant, DJ Sly, Ricky Lamar, Vee, Easy B and Dj Gouvela.

Kick-starting the performances was Vee who excited fans with hits Baba and Eitah.  His performance was followedby another electric display from house band, Team Distant.

The four young men had the women screaming at the top of their voices as the group performed their hit songs, Kave Ngoma and Oni Korota.  They showcase their different dance moves.

As the different DJs took to the stage, the crowd could not help but be blown away.  The bar was immediately raised when DJ Ricky Lamar took to the stage for his set.  He had many eating out of his hand as he played old tunes mixing them with latest house sounds.

As if this was not enough, motswako rapper Dramaboi reminded the crowd why motswako music is far from being outdated.

His latest song Candy from his album Wa Makeishane was surely the song of the night as the crowd sang along with him.  It was evident that the album is popular judging by the amount of cheering he received.

By midnight, SA’s Hip Hop Pantsula heated things up.  The Harambe hit maker took the audience on a nostalgic trip.

The time for the man of the moment to step onto the stage proved to people why he is one of the best in Africa.  The buff and tattooed Fresh belted out his mix of hit songs including that of Miley Cyrus’s Wrecking Ball and John Legend’s All Of Me before introducing his 28th album.

The songs that seemed popular were Nora En Pure, Come With Me, Thinking About You, Gusto, Disco’s Revenge and Sweet Melody.

Speaking to Showtime earlier, DJ Fresh mentioned that he is involved in a project where he will work with unknown artists.

“I believe in nurturing talent and as it is I am even impressed of the talent I am seeing here.  The artists that just performed are just phenomenal and who knows maybe I might just find a few here that I can work with but I always urge artists to be original and don’t copy other,” he said.

He added that he is grateful for the support he has been getting from Batswana. He said: “It always feels great when I come to perform here because I know the support I receive here is bigger than anything else.”

The organiser of the show Phenyo S Ntshinogang told Showtime that although the crowd was less than what he expected, he was satisfied with the many that showed up.

“Considering the fact that there were so many gigs taking place on the day, I am very happy with the crowd that showed up.  I am proud because I have been getting positive comments about the show,” he said.
