New voters' roll kills Bolele in mahalapye west re-runs

The losing MP has already registered a protest with the returning officer Unity Dow complaining about the voters’ roll that had been altered.

In his letter Bolele calls this a fraud, and states that he notified the chairman of the BDP elections Committee Parks Tafa about the anomaly on Friday.

It is believed the altered voters roll allowed new voters into the voters’ roll, resulting in Bolele’s loss. On Saturday as the elections went on in Mahalapye, talk of a long queue of hired buses ferrying voters to Mahalapye from Gaborone was rife on social media. Bolele’s supporters in particular feared that his rival might be responsible for the hired buses ferrying in voters. It will be interesting to see whether the ruling party will entertain yet another re-run in Mahalapye West.
