This week, BDP central committee reversed the February 3 decision in which they had ordered a re-election in the whole constituency as per section 9 (f) of the BDP constitution. The section reads; “where an irregularity has occurred or the process of the election has for unforeseen circumstance failed in any polling station, there shall be a re-election in the whole ward if it were elections for a council seat, or a re-election in the whole constituency if it were elections for a parliamentary seat.”

Molefe was challenging Bernard Bolele for the parliamentary seat in that constituency.

In a letter that the committee wrote, the BDP Executive Secretary Sechele Sechele said Molefe did not comply with section 12 c) (I) of the BDP primary elections rules and regulation. The letter further states that in accordance with section 12 (H) of the rules and regulations, the decision is final and binding.
