Lovers Serenaded At O'hagans

A live band backed the duo in their presentation.

First on stage was Dj MacJon who kept the audience at bay with his soulful olden melodies that eased and ushered many into the intimate romantic night.

The atmosphere and the venue was prepared to the finest detail with couples allocated cozy tables and the place radiating with intimate feel, coloured in red and white decorations.

The introduction of Mathiba on to the stage, only gave testament to what the audience came to witness, as many could not contain their excitement any longer.

Mathiba is one of the few artists blessed with a soulful voice that even works well with live performers, as it does not need any alteration.

He did not only stick to his own compositions as he even gave the audience other international songs when he gave rendition of Lucky Dube’s One Love.

But for many who still identifies him with the song “Thari ya Sechaba”, the wait was long overdue as many jumped to their feet to dance and sing along to the song that introduced him into the music scene.

Mathiba’s departure from stage also ushered another beautiful artist, Phuthego to the stage who in his own right has changed people’s perception and view when it comes to folklore music.

The folklore cum poet musician fused the two genres very well.

Dj Ricky Lamar elevated the atmosphere with his artistic skills on the decks as he added versatility to the show that was characterised by souls and intimate performance as the night end drew closer.
