The Big Five Are No Love Animals

Not even rapper Euri’s silky voice or the view of the stars and full moon could save the night.

For a well-advertised event that managed to draw a lot of couples, the Big Five valentine dinner failed to give lovers a night to remember.

Although the setting was perfectly placed on the outdoors with some lit candles and a live performance by Rastafarian band Basarwa first inhabitants, it was overshadowed by poor logistics.

Patrons were quick to leave the place immediately after having their dinner. This was a result of one serving point that in turn caused a long queue.

By the time some people managed to get a serving, they were already irritated from standing for a long period of time.

As if that was not enough, patrons were at some point told to return to their seats and wait for the food that was running short.

Instead of enjoying the evening looking into each other’s eyes and conversing, couples practically spent their evening on foot waiting to get hands on the food.

Despite the technicalities, Euri who was also dressed in valentine colours of red, white and black apologised to the couples when he took to the stage.

Another effort that had gone wrong was the plastic roses that were given as part of the welcome. In this day and age people’s expectations when one talks about flowers is that they get them fresh, nothing more, nothing less.
