Nyumasi 'not happy' with ECCO

However, the talented 27-year-old forward could not join the Gaborone giants after ECCO allegedly stood in his way. And the development has angered him.

The player’s agent, Comfort Ramatebele, confirmed that Nyumasi was upset at the way his botched move was handled.

“The boy is not happy at all. But I am not pointing a (accusing) finger at anybody. All the parties who were involved in the negotiations did not do a proper job, me included,” said Ramatebele.

Ramatebele could not be drawn into discussing the reasons behind Nyumasi’s failed move citing some clauses within the agreements he had with clubs.

ECCO spokesperson Moffat Dick once expressed doubt that the player was feigning an injury in an apparent protest to his failure to move.

But sources have argued that Nyumasi has every reason to be upset because “ECCO deprived him a perfect chance to make a kill out of his career”. According to informed sources, GU had promised Nyumasi a monthly salary of about P8, 500 – double what he is currently getting at ECCO.

GU had reportedly offered P200, 000 for the services of Nyumasi instead of the P250, 000 that ECCO wanted for their most priced asset.

“ECCO made it difficult for GU and ensured that he did not move to Gaborone,” said a source. Nyumasi was not willing to give his side of the story when contacted.
