Bomme takes Nono and Punah a notch up

The two have a wealth of experience to put them in good stead as they prepare to conquer the airwaves in their first studio collaboration.Gabasiane recorded her first album in 1999 and although Siile debuted a lot later, she has been Gabasiane's back up singer and dancer for so many years. The two have six albums between themselves.

Her most popular song to date has been Nthekele ring, a song to encourage unmarried couples to commit to marriage and seal the union. The duo's first single called Re tsetswe jalo is out and it perhaps offers fans an insight into what to expect in future projects.Gabasiane pointed out that the collaboration would not, however, dent their chances as individual recording musicians in any way.

She noted that they were already working on separate projects.'One of the reasons we came together was because our fans have always requested for this kind of collaboration and because we observed that separately as lyrists we tend to write music that highlights the plight of women and we thought since we shared the same vision why not do it as one unit,' Gabasiane told Showbiz.Re tsetswe jalo is a celebratory song highlighting the pride the musicians have in what they do and appreciating the support they have been getting from their fans over the years.

'Look these people have been behind us all these years not got tired of our music even when we were no longer releasing any new albums and for that we say thank you,' she said.Gabasiane also highlighted that the two of them were celebrating the fact that musically they have helped instill a sense of cultural pride among many Batswana, young and old.
