The prosecutor Thapelo Mafishane told Senior Magistrate Thebeetsile Mulalu yesterday that the prosecution has not recorded statements of two witnesses who are crucial in the case because the investigating officer is on leave.
He said: “The accused has been served with all statements and evidence except the statements of our last two witnesses.
“The state will be calling 11 witnesses. We may proceed to set trial dates.”
Mulalu set February 11 for another mention. The case will go for trial on April 2, 3 and 4.
Ncube who is remanded in custody told the court that he has nothing to say.
During the accused’s last mention in court, the prosecutor told the magistrate that he was recently allocated the case and needed time to familiarise himself with it.
