This is after the deceased, whose age was still to be ascertained at the time of going to press, went missing for the whole night. Police in Nata confirmed the shocking incident but could not shed more light on the matter as they had just started investigating.
'A pupil whose age is still to be established was on Wednesday morning found dead at a certain homestead in the village. We have learnt that the girl was doing Standard Six,' said Nata police commander Superintendent Otsile Fani.
Fani could not divulge the name of the deceased saying her next of kin were still to be notified. Unconfirmed reports in the village are that the Makongwa Primary School pupil left home for school on Tuesday morning but she did not return. The school head teacher, Keitumetse Makula, said the last time she saw the girl was on Monday.
Sources further claimed that the deceased's parents spent a sleepless night searching for their daughter in the bush with the help of some relatives and neighbours. The body of their child was found dumped beside the family tuck shop next to their home. Mmegi could not reach the parents of the girl by the end of last week to find out about funeral arrangements.
